Casa Américo, Red, 2021

Casa Américo Red 2021 is a wine from the Dão Region, sub-region of Serra da Estrela. Casa Américo Tinto is produced with a selection of the best red grapes of the Jaen, Touriga Nacional and Tinta-Roriz varieties from various plots, aged between 15 and 40 years. These plots are located in the Vila Nova de Tazem, Portugal area with an altitude between 400 and 600m in granitic soils.

Winemaker Pedro Pereira’s tasting notes, Casa Américo Tinto 2021 has an intense ruby color. Aroma with hints of spiced red fruits and light toast. In the mouth it is balanced, with round tannins and an elegant finish.

According to Roger Voss, Casa Américo Red is “A mature wine, full of black fruits and bold tannins, it is an old and tarry wine. The 2014 vintage of Casa Américo red obtained a score of 87 points in wine Enthusiast magazine.

According to Roger Voss “This is a mature wine, with its rich tannins and smooth texture, it’s delicious. Balanced and smooth, it’s a mature blend of Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional and Jaen. With blackcurrant and blackcurrant flavors, it’s fruity. No it is aged in wood, although there is some final seasoning of the fruit. Drink it now.”  + Info
