Quinta do Aral
Wineyards since 1931
Quinta do Aral
From Quinta do Aral it is possible to see, the city of Gouveia, at distance.
It is a property with about 15 ha of vineyards and 4 ha of orchard, surrounded by pine trees and many other trees and several rocky outcrops. In the orchard, we have the famous Bravo de Esmolfe apple. In the vineyard, the typical grape varieties of the Serra da Estrela region are present, such as Encruzado, Malvasia, Touriga Nacional, Jaen, Alfrocheiro, Tinta Roriz and Baga.
Here the oldest vines were planted in 1931 and it has a considerable area over 50 years old. In 2017, another 2 ha were planted, where the mixture of existing grape varieties in the old vineyard was reproduced, with the aim of preserving the tradition for future generations.
Quinta do Aral is also our highest vineyard. Here, high-altitude wines are at their best.
