Casa Américo, 625 mts, Red, 2019

This wine represents what an altitude wine is.
It is a unique vintage field blend from our vineyard with 50 years old at Quinta do Aral, located at an altitude of 625 m.  Jaen, Tinta Pinheira, Tinta Amarela and Baga were predominant in this vineyard.
In its vinification, it was decided to partially de-stem the grapes and gently crush them in a granite press. Fermentation took place at a controlled temperature of 23ºC, gently homogenizing the must by foot treading, in order to make a good extraction of the grapes, preserving all the aromas and flavors.

REVIEWS AND AWARDS:

Casa Américo, 625 Red 2019, received 92 points and Editor´s Choice  in Wine Enthusiast magazine.  A wine from a field blend of vines grown at 2,000 feet, this is impressively rich, layering black fruits and minerality from the granite soil. It is an impressive wine, its rich tannins still firmly in place. Drink the wine from 2026. — Roger Voss

Gold medal awarded in Best of Dão Wines to Casa Américo, 625 Red 2019.

Tambuladeira de Ouro, a gold medal awarded in 9th Concurso dos Vinhos da Caixa Agrícola to Casa Américo, 625 Red 2019.

Casa Américo, 625 Red 2019, received 17,5 points in Grandes Escolhas magazine. Luis Lopes taste Notes:Vineyards from the Aral, 625 meters above sea level with Baga, Tinta Pinheira, Trincadeira, Jaen, Camarate. Grapes trodden in a press. Excellent nose with a lot of spice, pine needles, moss, wild flowers, elegant raspberry fruit. The classic record remains in the mouth, with perfect balance and a lot of character.

92 points in Fugas Magazine  to Casa Américo, 625 Red 2019. Taste Notes: In visual appearance, this red is fragile. In terms of aromas, it is far from exuberant, although the floral hints are attractive and original. In the mouth, however, it does justice to the best parchments of the
Dão – and in particular Dão near Serra da Estrela. The light touch of wood that it presents (40% of the blend has been in used barrels) reveals the original purity and elegance and freshness of the mountain. An authentic red, very gastronomic, full of character and grace, which will gain with a couple of years in the cellar. M.C.
