Vinha de Púcaros, Reserva Tinto, 2018

The Vinha de Púcaros Red Reserve 2018 is a wine produced with grapes, carefully selected in the vineyard, of the varieties Touriga Nacional Alfrocheiro and Tinta Roriz from the vineyards of Quinta do Paço, located in Gouveia. Aged 12 months in French oak barrels.

Winemaker Pedro Pereira’s Tasting Notes: Granade color. Aroma of forest fruits with toasted notes of coconut. The palate is very balanced and has a long finish.

 Vinha de Púcaros Red Reserve 2018  received  90-91 points in VertdeVIN magazine. Tasting Notes: The nose is fruity and offers concentration, a sense of depth and na attractive richeness in the fleshiness of the fruit. It expresses notes of fleshy cassis, fleshy and juicy cherry and chushed small red berries, toghether with touches of arbutus, red pepper and crushed small wild fruits, as well as a hint of sweet pepper, maceron and a slight almost warm, olive-tinged chocolate nuance. The palate is fonely built, fruity, taut, juicy, accurate, acidulated and carries a discreet tension. in the mouth it expresses notes of juicy, pulpy cassis, fleshy, bright red plum and a volume of bright small red fruits, combined with touches of small blue fruits, nutmeg, a hint of maceron, infusion and a subtle almost balsamic note with a discreteetly vanilled edge. The texture has an airy quality and the finish offers good length. Tannins are fine and supple.

The 2014 vintage from Vinha de Púcaros Red Reserve 2014 received 88 points, attributed by Marcelo Copello.
According to Marcelo Copello: “Almost dark garnet color. Aroma of good attack, with notes of chocolate, vanilla, toast, ripe red fruits. Good body on the palate, fine, ready tannins, good acidity, 13.5% alcohol. A Dão more mature, concentrated.”
