Casa Américo, Homenagem White, 2017
This wine is a tribute to the man who dreamed of Casa Américo, father Américo Seabra!
This white wine is the result of a special blend of white grapes, from one of our vineyards that are over 80 years old. In these old vines with very low production, a mixture of traditional varieties from this sub-region of Dão, Serra da Estrela, is present.
Casa Américo Homenagem White, 2017, is the result of a manual harvest. In its vinification, it was opted for a pressing with total destemming, followed by gentle crushing, with skin maceration for 10 hours at a temperature of 8ºC. Half of the wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks and the other half in new 400 L french oak barrels. After fermentation, battonage was carried out both in the barrels and in the tank for 3 months.
Casa Américo Homenagem White, 2017, has a lemon yellow color and a highly complex aroma. In the mouth it is unctuous and full, with mineral and saline, fine acidity, but alive.
