Quinta Nova

Our highest vineyard

Quinta Nova

Quinta Nova is currently the largest property of Casa Américo Wines, with around 70 ha in Vila Nova de Tazem.

It is made up of a sequence of vineyards with different ages and varieties, which unfold through ups and downs, meandering through pine forests, olive trees and many rocky outcrops.
Here we find the very traditional Dão grape varieties, both red and white. Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Alfrocheiro and Jaen are the main ones. In the white varieties we find Encruzado, Bical, Cerceal Branco, Malvasia Fina, among others.

It is on this property that the Rehabilitation Vineyard of Autochthonous Grape varieties of Dão is located, which aims to preserve our wine heritage for future generations. It is a vineyard recently planted with old grape varieties, some of which are at risk of disappearing, which are currently only present in old vines.
In the Rehabilitation Vineyard for Autochthonous Grape varieties of Dão, white varieties such as Alvadurão, Gouveio, Barcelo, Uvacão, Terrantez and red varieties such as Baga, Alvarelhão, Camarate, Sousão, Bastardo and Tinta Pinheira have an opportunity to succeed in the vineyard and in oenology.
